System Gating Examples
Same Operation, Varying Production Quantity
Shown is a portion of a line using two perpendicular Spur Tracks or Magazines to perform identical or “parallel” operations on the same product. This configuration allows you to efficiently increase production rate when the station tasks cannot be further divided.
Same Product, Multiple Operations
Shown is a portion of a line using two perpendicular Spur Tracks or Magazines to perform different operations on the same product.
Multiple Products, Same Line
This example demonstrates the versatility of the HFL 2002-S Transfer System to run more than one product on the same line. By using a pallet coding system (either mechanical or electronic), each pallet is given a unique identity. The system can then be programmed so that each Spur Track receives only the pallets containing the product it needs for that operation.
Bypassing with Bridge Tracks
A variation on the previous example, this configuration shows how operations can be bypassed using Bridge Tracks. Pallet “C” is shown being diverted to the opposite side of the line. This feature can be used to assemble multiple products simultaneously, set up double-pass looping through stations, or simply divert reject product into rework areas.
